Would it be stupid to invest $50 in an emergency radio? - eton radio
Basically, since Katrina, I thought up to $ 50 to spend on a radio from Eton (FR300) to the frequency of weather emergency and AM / FM / VHF television. Except for a light, siren and cell phone charger. Sage? Or am I just paranoid?

I experienced the WTC attacks, the blackout in the Northeast, snow storms, hurricanes and summer ranges. He lived a tornado, while in the Midwest. You may not think you'll need a radio, but when the weather is a relief. To keep the news on local radio or TV on the status of the time instead of at home, without listening to update the information to get a sense of calm. For you and your family.
Why not make your own emergency "bag for such emergencies? Some suggestions for this package are available redcross.org
Get Better safe than sorry. As always the possibility that the power comes from his dyou willing, at least.
What could be wrong? We will bring peace, and prevention is better than cure. (If you can afford to spend money)
I have one, you never know if or when you need it to be well prepared
